Trade-Specific AI Guides vs. Generic AI Courses
The difference isn't quality — it's scope. One kind of course teaches AI in general. The other teaches AI for one trade.
What generic AI courses cover
Courses like FreeAcademy, Grow with Google, and HubSpot Academy teach AI skills that apply to any business: how to write a prompt, general productivity habits, an overview of the tools. They are broad by design and mostly free. What they don't have is trade context — the same lesson is served to a plumber, a hair salon, and a nonprofit, and none of them are told where the line is for their own work.
What a Business AI Guide covers
A guide only covers what one specific trade needs. The examples come from that trade — a plumber's missed-call reply, a nonprofit's grant-writing prompt — and the compliance boundary is written for that trade's real risk: a diagnosis, a code determination, a HIPAA boundary. That boundary runs through every lesson: AI helps with the writing; the licensed, human decision stays with you.
The honest tradeoff
Generic courses are broader and mostly free. A guide here is narrower, paid, and built for one job. If you want a general foundation in AI, a free generic course is a fine place to start. If you want the version already written for your trade, with the boundary already drawn, that is what $39 buys.
